About the Couple
Bride: Karen Chiavatti
Groom: TJ Grewal
How they met: The couple met at a Halloween party in 2003.
Engagement story: “TJ and I spent the August 2008 long weekend in Cleveland, Ohio,” Karen explains. “We had always wanted to visit The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and decided this was a great weekend to go on a road trip. Little did I know, two weeks previous to our trip, TJ had met with my dad, mom and brothers to let them know his intentions to ask me to marry him. On the day we visited The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, TJ had the ring in his pocket the entire time. I found out later he was too nervous to give it to me because there were so many people around. Outside, there was a separate exhibit featuring Johnny Cash’s tour bus that we decided to check out, but you could only enter two at a time. So the two of us walked through the bus and I remember commenting on how sweet it was that Johnny Cash made a special area in the bus just for his wife while he was touring, and jokingly asked TJ if he was ever a big rock star and we were married, would he make a special spot in his tour bus just for me? We laughed at the thought of him becoming a big rock star, and as we headed towards the exit he stopped and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes, then called all of my family back home to tell them the good news (which they all knew was coming),” Karen reminisces.
