When it comes to topping off your ensemble you have an array of fanciful options at your fingertips—from feathered cocktail hats to fresh flowers and bedazzled hair combs—but nothing says bridal style quite like a traditional veil: the quintessential W-day accessory. Dating back to Ancient Rome, the veil has always been a classic choice for brides. However, if the runway shows are any indication, these diaphanous head coverings are back in a big way.
Every single model in Monique Lhuillier’s sublime Fall 2009 runway show donned a simple yet elegant veil. The resulting looks were romantic, contemporary and ethereal. In this case, a dramatic full-length veil is perfectly pretty when paired with a dreamy, billowy ballgown.
