How they met: The couple met through mutual friends, who discovered that Danielle had a secret crush on Daniel.
Engagement story: “Dan was away at college in Ontario, while I was working after graduation in P.E.I.,” tells Danielle. “We arranged to spend Thanksgiving at my brother’s place in Ottawa. On the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we explored the city for the day. Unbeknownst to me, Dan had the ring in his pocket the whole time. He was looking for a quiet place all day, but there were people everywhere! On our second attempt to get into Gatineau Park, we finally found a parking space and went for a walk. I wanted to keep to the main trails, and after shooting down Dan’s idea of taking a quieter side trail once, I agreed to take a less-travelled path on our way back to the car. Once we were on the trail, Dan suddenly grabbed my hand and told me to wait. He then took the ring out of his pocket, got down on one knee, and with the gorgeous autumn leaves falling around us, asked me to marry him.”
