For Spring 2011, it wasn’t just the gorgeous gowns that had us taking note. Many designers paired their inspiring creations with equally breathtaking accessories. That being said, we know it can be overwhelming to put together a complete “look,” which is exactly why we’ve organized this guide for you! We suggest taking your gown’s neckline as a starting point. As you can see from the catwalk, matching sets are a bit passé, and it’s perfectly acceptable just to choose a bold necklace or a show-stopping pair of earrings. Furthermore, you don’t have to break the bank to look like a million bucks. One of our favourite online resources for costume jewellery is Tejani (tejani.com). Being able to shop according to your personal style (Antique, Daring or Dainty) makes it a whole lot easier to zero in on your perfect pieces.
Neckline: Strapless sweetheart
Must-have Jewels: Statement necklace
Runway: Amsale, Spring 2011
This simple (and super-flattering) neckline works really nicely with a big, chunky necklace. We love the idea of classic pearls—with a twist!
