About the Couple
Bride: Viviane Nguyen
Groom: Hai Huynh
How they met: “Hai and I met seven years ago during a summer night at a mutual friend’s house,” explains Viviane. “I thought he was cute, and got his phone number from one of his friends after getting better acquainted through a game of Pictionary. The next day, after hesitating, I found the courage to call him and I asked if he had plans for the summer, only to realize he had quite a busy schedule. I told him he probably didn’t have time for me but to my surprise he replied and said that he would still have time for me. That’s when our love story began,” gushes Viviane.
Engagement story: “Ever since we first met Hai had known about my fairy-tale dream,” explains Viviane. “I told him I would only marry the man who would give me 999 roses. Five years later Hai made my dream come true. He had a surgery meeting at La Malbaie, Quebec and I went there to see him after my last exam. He picked me up at the Charlevoix bus terminal and brought me to the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. As I was walking in the corridor towards the hotel room I could hear a song I recognized right away; it was our song. When I opened the door I saw that the room was filled with roses, lots of roses—real roses, artificial roses, origami roses and paintings of roses. All the roses totalled 999; Hai then got down on one knee and proposed. I answered yes right away without hesitating. I was so happy!” gushes Viviane.

A principalplanner.com wedding. I love these two. We placed the 999 roses in the bridal suite after sitting and counting every single one. Hai wanted us to double check that the number is exactly right. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.
