About the Couple
Bride: Sarah Crawford
Groom: Christopher Pell
How they met: They’re high-school sweethearts! As Sarah explains, “A wayward paper airplane that Chris threw came my way. I handed it back to him and he asked my name. That’s the way the whole thing started. Nine-and-a-half years later we got married with the theme ‘Love is in the air.’”
Engagement story: “It happened on February 14,” recalls Sarah. “We take turns for Valentine’s Day. One year one of us does it, and the other doesn’t have to do a thing, and the next year we switch. It was his year. We work together so he had flowers sent to work (ironic because we own a garden centre), and he made a great dinner. After dinner he suggested we go for a walk. We were walking along our usual route and chatting when all of the sudden he stopped. I kept going for a few paces, and then I turned to figure out why he had stopped. When I turned around, he was down on one knee!”
