About the Couple:
Bride: Caroline Elizabeth Bishop
Groom: Vavek Glogoviecki
Occupations: Caroline is an art director and Vavek is an electrician.
How they met: At the Rivoli, a bar on Queen West. Another guy stood Caroline up, and as she was leaving Vavek tapped her on the shoulder and made her stay for a drink. It was love at first sight.
Fave date: Friday night in New York City, on their first trip together. They bar-hopped all night in Soho, just the two of them, getting a little tipsy, and having the most amazing time.
What attracted her to him: Vavek’s confidence, sincerity and that he was wearing skateboarding shoes. And how on the night they met, he kicked his best friend out of the front seat of his car so she could sit shotgun while he drove her and her friend home.
What attracted him to her: Her loveliness and beauty.
Engagement story: “We went to visit Vavek’s sister in Houston, Texas for the weekend. We took a surprise road trip to San Antonio where Vavek arranged a romantic dinner along the river. After dinner, we were walking around the river, and he took me to a secluded place, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was incredibly sweet.”
