Known as one of the best floral designers in Hawaii, Yvonne Chapman, owner and designer of Yvonne Design Event and Floral Decor (yvonnefloral.com), took a few minutes out of her busy schedule to chat with us about what’s hot and what’s not for 2009 and 2010. We even asked her to give us some pointers on how to throw a beautiful celebration on a budget. Here’s what she revealed:
Weddingbells: What floral trends do you see this year and anticipate for the next?
Yvonne Chapman: Tablescape centrepieces, as opposed to a single centrepiece, are becoming more popular with couples. Tablescapes add more depth and interest to a table and tend to give a wedding a much-desired unique look, especially by including elements that incorporate the wedding theme. For example: adding moss, stones and wood for an organic look, or Swarovski crystals and candelabra for a formal, sophisticated look.
