About the Couple
Bride: Julie Fraietta
Groom: Geoff LaFleur
Occupations: Julie is a social science researcher and Geoff is a product manager.
How they met: We knew of each other for years, but didn’t start talking until he was the best man in my sister’s wedding, and I was the maid of honour. Shortly after, he was cheering me on at my first road race and the rest is history!
His fave date: Walking up Wintergreen ski hill in Bragg Creek to look over the city.
What attracted him to her: Her fashion sense, razor-sharp wit, the fact that she’s a great writer, and that she’s a cyclist.
What attracted her to him: His smile lines.
Engagement story: Geoff took Julie cross-country skiing at Lake Moraine, her favourite place on earth. On the way down, Julie was complaining about how hungry she was, and Geoff said, “I think I have a power gel in my jacket pocket—I have my gloves on, can you pull it out?” So she did and pulled out a ring instead! No power gel, but there were Bernard Callebaut chocolates waiting in the car.

What a beautiful couple! And the perfect day in Banff. Congratulations on your first year anniversary and keep trekking together.

Everything from the wedding service in the mountains to the reception in the Mt Stephen Hall at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel was breathtaking. The couple were blessed with a relaxed, sunny and fun filled weekend which started with a wonderful wedding rehearsal dinner in Banff , a beautiful morning wedding and reception ending with a scrumptious Mother's Day brunch on Sunday at Emerald Lake Lodge in Yoho National Park.
Julie and Geoff, we wish you both a happy 1st. anniversary and much love and happiness in the coming years.
