Mexico’s rich and vibrant culture explodes out of every nook and cranny. A modern country with a distinctive blend of cultures, cuisine, music and art forms, its architectural treasures rival those of Europe and Asia. Mexico offers something for every taste. More traditional travellers can opt for a relaxing beach vacation at a modern all-inclusive resort, while the more daring can opt for a getaway that is a little more off the beaten path. With a wide array of tourist resorts, ancient cities, snow-capped mountains, pine forests, deserts and beautiful tropical beaches, there is plenty from which to choose.
Riviera Maya
Riviera Maya’s natural beauty compliments its rich culture and remarkable history. Many of its magnificent all-inclusive resorts offer all the advantages of the world’s greatest hotels, but despite their large size, many contain quiet, intimate retreats where you can relax. For those wishing to enjoy an authentic, Mexican experience, the Riviera Maya offers excursions and activities for every taste. Visit Tulum, the only walled Mayan city, admire the ancient pyramids at Coba, go snorkelling at the world’s second largest coral reef or go shopping in Cancun.
Riviera Nayarit
Mexico’s rich culture is alive and well on this glorious stretch of the Pacific Coast, where secluded beaches, sleepy fishing villages, mysterious mangroves and fascinating museums coexist peacefully with all-inclusive resorts, world-class golf courses and an exciting, sophisticated nightlife. Visitors to this stunning region will never run out of things to do. By far one of the most romantic options is a day trip to Las Caletas. Accessible only by boat this lush tropical hideaway is a lovebird’s paradise. Also worth a visit is the tiny 17th century town of San Sebastian, which has maintained its traditional white houses, red roofs and cobbled streets. Thrill seekers may opt for the adventure of a lifetime as they travel through mountain streams, forgotten villages and bumpy terrain to the heart of the Sierra Madre.
Puerto Vallarta
Nestled between the majestic Sierra Madre mountains and the magnificent Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta is a vacationer’s delight. Its stunning ocean views, lush jungles, spectacular scenery, fabulous golf courses and exciting nightlife have combined to make it one of Mexico’s top vacation destinations. But Puerto Vallarta is much more than a resort town, this colonial town features superb architecture, great restaurants and wonderful shopping. Beyond lounging on the beach, vacationers may want to swim with dolphins, dance the night away next to a pyramid, enjoy a sunset cruise or drive an ATV through rugged mountain terrain. The possibilities for vacation fun are endless!

Hi everyone! My wife Jessica and I got married at the Barcelo Maya Resort 2 years ago. Were from Ontario Canada but we lived in Playa Del Carmen for 4 months. We had an amazing time during our wedding week and it was the best decision we ever made. If anyone has any questions about having a wedding at the Barcelo or just how the destination wedding experience was feel free to email me. info@brandonscottphotography.com

Has anyone done a destination wedding with just the bride and groom (no guests)? How much were the costs?

Are the wedding packages differ from each hotel and what are the main differences? How much work was it to organize it? Did you use a wedding coordinator offered by the hotel? If so, would you recommend it?
