What It’s About: Tom and Hannah have been friends for many years. Tom is a serial dater and Hannah wants to find someone to settle down with. When Hannah leaves for a six-week business trip to Scotland, Tom realizes he is in love with her and wants to marry her. He plans to tell her when she gets back, but she has a surprise of her own—she got engaged to a man while she was in Scotland. Hannah then asks Tom to be her maid of honour. Tom agrees to fill the role so he can sabotage the wedding from the inside and win Hannah over.
Why We Love It: Hannah defied convention and asked a man to be her maid of honour. She wanted the most important person in her life to stand up with her at her wedding and didn’t care about tradition. This made for some great scenes—it’s so funny to see a man taking care of the traditional maid of honour duties.
