The Princess Bride
Year: 1987
What It’s About: Princess Buttercup is kidnapped the night before her wedding to Prince Humperdink (who she isn’t in love with). She is in love with her farmhand Westley, who she believes to be dead. A masked crusader, who turns out to be Westley, saves her from her kidnappers. They then have to escape from Prince Humperdink who still wants to marry Buttercup.
Why We Love It: The movie mixes fantasy, romance and comedy, which makes it a great watch for both men and women. The mystical element gives the story a fairy-tale feel to it, which makes us remember childhood stories. It is easy to get caught up in the story, and it is the perfect movie to watch on a rainy day.
