Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
Year: 1954
What It’s About: Based in the 1890s, it is the story of Milly, a small-town waitress, who falls in love with and marries a mountain man named Adam. When he takes her home she realizes that Adam has six brothers living with him. She teaches them to be respectable young men who are ready to find wives of their own. They soon meet six friends who they all fall in love with, and Adam comes up with a hilarious plan to kidnap the girls to make them his brothers’ wives.
Why We Love It: Who doesn’t like a good musical? The songs are catchy and impossible to get out of your head. The entire movie reminds us of a simpler time when a wedding was just the exchange of “I dos” in front of a minister.
