The Wedding Day
Wedding date: May 23, 2010
Guests: 180
Their best moment: “Standing together under the chuppah with our parents,” shares the couple.
Her Best Moment: “Seeing Steven for the first time,” says Julia.
Favourite wedding detail: “Our videographer Rick put together a same-day-edit where he videotaped, edited and aired a montage of our wedding day,” Julia shares. “It was amazing to showcase all of the events of the day as well as everyone who was a part of it.”
Wedding song: “You’re All I Need to Get By” by Marvin Gaye.
Theme: An elegant, yet intimate celebration.
Reception: “It was a long and wonderful day!” explains Julia. “The whole event was held at the Royal York Hotel so everyone could congregate in a single place. The official start of the day kicked off with the girls getting ready together before pictures. We had an informal signing ceremony where everyone gathered before the main event and then the full ceremony under a beautiful chuppah in the Imperial Room,” continues Julia. “The Imperial Room had special significance as my late grandfather, a jazz musician, once performed in the room. With great food, wonderful live music, touching words from close family members and just enough comic relief, the night raced away faster than we would ever have guessed,” reflects Julia.
Best surprise of the day: “The Lost producers used to produce a weekly podcast where they would comment on recent episodes and answer questions that were submitted from fans,” explains Julia. “Our friend Michael submitted a question to them asking what we should do since our wedding and the Lost series finale conflicted. They chose to answer our question at length in their podcast, and he aired the clip at the wedding,” Julia says.

It was a wonderful wedding, and I was very happy to be there.
