Christina Torrison and Neil Cumbria can still recall their fave date. “It happened in Venice, Italy during the summer we first met. We wandered the cobblestone streets, ate pizza and topped it all off with a gondola ride down the Grand Canal,” Christina reminisces. “It doesn’t get much better than that.” But, as with all happy couples, it did. One day, Neil surprised Christina with a getaway to Banff. “We were amazed by the Fairmont hotel’s beauty and decided to look around,” Christina explains. “We eventually went to the patio area to look at the view, and there on a deserted balcony under the evening stars he asked me to be his wife.” Following their trip, the duo quickly put their wedding into motion and booked the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton for their reception. “The flowers and the cake were our favourite details,” Christina gushes. However, for Neil, the wedding details were secondary. What truly made his day? “When she said ‘I do,’” Neil simply states.
