Want to feel feminine, footloose and fancy-free on your wedding day? Forgo the classic A-line or mermaid silhouette in favour of this season’s hottest style—the baby doll. Versions of this flirty frock have been spotted in many of the latest designer collections, including Reverie, Romona Keveza, Elizabeth Fillmore, Junko Yoshioka and Anne Barge, to name a few, and it’s easy to see why this style is taking the bridal runways by storm. The baby doll dress was inspired by lingerie, and first gained popularity in the 1950s and ’60s for two reasons: it’s comfortable and flattering. The baby doll looks great on a variety of body types: it emphasizes your waist and shows off your legs—enabling you to kick up your (designer!) heels and dance the night away. Speaking of accessories, complete your ensemble with girly, glamorous finishing touches. For instance, pretty pink pearls and a whimsical bow headband are the perfect match for this dream dress. Last, but not least, be sure to stuff a frilly, ruffled clutch with some fun-loving beauty goodies (think shimmery lip gloss and a fruity floral scent).

I always believed in keeping things simple - I love the pics showing a more simple and yet feminine style. What a relief to not have something heavy and traditional on your special day - I was married in '71 and again in 2000, both times not sporting traditional wedding garb - GO FROCKS!

I am in love girly dresses and accessories! I completely agree with the pink pearls and a ruffly clutch. You can never have too many girly accessories! xo Kimberlee of gracefullygirly.com
