Tie the Knot
Kauai abounds with romance or pilialoha, so it’s the ideal place to say “I do.” Incorporate traditional Hawaiian elements, such as the lei exchange, for a truly memorable ceremony. Some of our favourite locations to make it official? Hanalei’s charming Wai’oli Hui’ia Church (hanaleichurch.org) is absolutely picture-perfect for an intimate affair. The Fern Grotto located in Smith’s Tropical Paradise (smithskauai.com) is a sacred spot that has hosted 19,000 weddings (and counting!) since 1962, and for good reason—this site has it all: luscious greenery, tropical blooms and picturesque waterfalls. As for the legalities, all that’s required to wed in the state of Hawaii is a marriage license ($60 U.S.) and proof of age. For more information, visit hawaii.gov.
