About the Couple
Bride: Jennifer Spencer
Groom: Ryan Robins
Occupations: Jennifer is in video production and Ryan is in marketing services and events.
How they met: Staff retreat.
Fave date: Heading to Banff and skating on Lake Louise.
Engagement story: Due to their jobs, Jennifer and Ryan were fortunate to have the opportunity to go to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. After the games they chose to travel to Rome and Venice. While in Venice, they decided to take a gondola ride. Jennifer told Ryan maybe they shouldn’t, as it was quite expensive. However, Ryan convinced Jennifer that they should take this possibly once-in-a-lifetime chance. Jennifer gave in and they hopped in the gondola and headed towards the famous Rialto Bridge. Ryan began telling Jennifer how much she meant to him. Slightly confused, Jennifer asked why he was getting all sappy. To her surprise, just as they were heading underneath the bridge, Ryan pulled out a beautiful engagement ring and asked her to be his wife. All the people on the bridge could see what was happening, and as they went underneath the bridge, everyone ran to the other side to see her reaction. Ryan said he really hoped Jennifer would say yes as he didn’t have anywhere to go. At that very moment Jennifer said, “yes.”
