About the Couple
Bride: Sara Alroubaie
Groom: Curt McKinnon
How they met: Sara and Curt met by the pool. While Sara was training as a swimmer on the University of Manitoba’s swim team, Curt was at the poolside, fulfilling his lifeguard duties. After a few glances back and forth, the two decided to go on a date.
Engagement story: “On Christmas morning, I had to work, but when I got home Curt gave me my Christmas stocking to open up,” smiles Sara. “At the very bottom was the ring. As I opened the ring box, Curt got down on one knee. He asked me to spend forever with him and I said, ‘Yes!’”
