Occupations: Janny and Arthur both work in financial services. 
How they met: Although Janny and Arthur attended the same university at roughly the same time it wasn’t until five years after graduation that they met at a reunion in Hawaii. Things just fell into place afterwards. 
Favourite date: Not long after they first met, Janny and Arthur travelled to Switzerland to ski with friends during the Christmas holiday. Janny had broken her arm snowboarding 10 years previously and found the Swiss Alps terrifyingly steep. Arthur patiently taught Janny how to snowboard, and his encouragement increased her confidence. On the third day, after Janny had become relatively proficient, Arthur stopped on the slopes to wait for her, not realizing that she had already passed him by. At the bottom of the ski run Janny looked up the mountain to see that Arthur had removed his snowboard and was walking up the ski run to look for her, convinced she had been injured on the way down. Janny knew he was a keeper from that moment on.    
What attracted her to him: Arthur reading The Economist on the beaches of Hawaii.
What attracted him to her: Janny’s ability to see the normal and mundane in a very creative light.
Engagement story: Janny and Arthur are avid hikers and had planned a trip to the hiking circuit Carros de Foc (Chariots of Fire) in the Spanish Pyrenees. Their first day in the Pyrenees Janny stopped to admire the vistas. When she turned around Arthur was on one knee, engagement ring at the ready, whereupon he popped the question.
