About the Couple
Bride: Jennifer McCloskey
Groom: Chris Harkness
How they met: “One of my best friends taught with Chris and strongly suggested we were perfect for each other,” shares Jennifer. “The first time I met Chris he told a terrible joke and I thought he was a bit of a nerd. Time went by and Chris finally convinced a friend to give him my number and we went out on a date to the beach for hot dogs and ice cream. The next date ended up lasting for three days with a trip to the rodeo in Vancouver and I remember looking at him and thinking I could marry him one day.”
Engagement story: “We stayed at the fabulous Harrison Hot Springs and Resort and had a romantic evening. The next day, Chris suggested going canoeing,” explains Jennifer. “We travelled up to the beautiful lake and decided to stop at some rocks and relax. It was such a beautiful day. Then Chris got down on one knee and told me he loved me and wanted to grow old with me and asked if I would marry him. I cried and cried and I said yes through the tears. He then told me that the ring was his grandmother’s and both of his sisters and his mother wanted me to have it—that made me cry even more. Neither of us have ever looked back,” recalls Jennifer with a smile.
