About the Couple:
Bride: Hilary Goss
Groom: Dane Jensen
Occupations: Dane is a management consultant and Hilary is a fashion merchandiser.
How they met: Hilary and Dane both attended Queen’s University, but they first met in their third year when they signed up for a three-month exchange in England. They lived across from one another in a castle.
Favourite date: “We both really enjoy good food, so our favourite dates tend to revolve around nice restaurants, long dinners and wine pairings.”
First thing that attracted her to him: “His ability to offer tech support—the first time we talked he helped me fix my Internet connection. And his curly blond hair and big blue eyes certainly didn’t hurt.”
First thing that attracted him to her: “Her adorable smile, and the fact that she laughed at my jokes.”
Engagement story: Dane arranged for a series of unique events to occur on their drive to the cottage. An example: at a strawberry stand where berries usually cost $3.50, he had a special sign that said “For Hilary $3.00.” Dane also arranged for a song he wrote to be playing at the cottage when they arrived, with flowers and souvenirs from their travels on display. Hilary went inside first, and he followed with the ring.
