The Wedding Day:
Wedding date: July 15, 2008
Guests: 350
Wedding theme: Modern Indian
Her best moment: “When we walked up alone on the cliff after our ceremony, with our photographers far behind us, and we talked about how amazing the ceremony was, and how it was such a great feeling to be married.”
His best moment: “That she was so happy that her dream of getting married on a beach came true.”
What they would have done differently: “Nothing at all!”
Advice to others: “You must get a wedding planner; it makes everything easier, and makes the planning and decision-making process more enjoyable. Also at some point, look around you and take a mental picture, stop and take it all in—it’s only one day and it goes by so fast.”
Wedding song: “An Indian song that makes both of us sing along.”
Fave wedding gift: “They were all beautiful and memorable.”
Fave wedding detail: “The table numbers stand was an illustration of me walking and holding a shopping bag and Vijay playing hockey.”
What made her day: “Everyone I truly care about was there and went above and beyond to make sure the evening was spectacular. It was very touching, and I realized that I have so many people that mean so much in my life. People travelled from all over the world to be there. More than half the room was from out of town and every single person invited had come!”
What made his day: “Having a beautiful reception that everybody enjoyed!”
Honeymoon: “We’re still on it.”
The day in three words: Unique, emotional, breathtaking.
