About the Couple
Bride: Susan Mai
Groom: Andrea Guido
How they met: “Andrea and I met through our mutual friend, Sherisse (aka my maid of honour),” says Susan. “I attended high school with her, while Andrea went to Air Cadets with her and their friend Niko (aka his best man). The four of us became really close friends after a prank on Niko went astray,”Susan explains. “ I guess you could say the rest is history.”
Engagement story: After eight years of dating, “the proposal came unexpectedly,” says Susan. “We had just finished dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant. Andrea handed me a gift box. I opened it and inside was a ceramic cupcake labeled ‘I love you.’ Andrea hinted that I open the cupcake. My heart stopped because I already knew what was waiting for me inside. I slowly lifted the top, and sure enough nestled in the cupcake was a solitaire engagement ring sprinkled with heart confetti,” she says excitedly! This was the beginning of their year and a half long engagement.
