HAIR
1985: Short and coiffed—while Princess Diana married in 1981, her hairstyle was still the coveted look. For those brides with long locks, an updo with soft, loose curls was a popular option.

MAKEUP HIGHLIGHTS
1985: Forget about the Blue Man Group—brides went bold with blue eyeshadow and blue mascara. Foundation was often heavier, as brides wanted to be certain their makeup didn't melt off on the big day. Intense blush and frosty pink lipstick often rounded out the look.
