About the Couple
Bride: Jen Hsieh
Groom: Kyle Reed
How they met: The couple met while studying illustration at Sheridan College.
Engagement story: “We had become a couple in Toronto but moved to Hamilton a few years earlier,” Jen explains. “We come into Toronto about once a week for various reasons. The night (November 13, 2008) Kyle proposed we were actually running late for a quilting class we were taking together. He decided to take Yonge Street during rush hour, telling me he had a good feeling about it. It was a decision that really confused and frustrated me because Yonge Street was bumper to bumper. I had no idea what was happening until he parked the car in front of the old house he had rented with friends years before—the sight of our first kiss. He asked me to step out onto the old street and we walked over to the sidewalk in front of the house. Then he got down on one knee and proposed! We were both really nervous and excited and we went to our quilting class afterwards and surprised everyone,” continued Jen.
