About the Couple:
Bride: Debbie Jorgensen
Groom: Jefferson Brown
Occupations: Debbie is a lawyer and Jefferson is an actor.
How they met: In the cafeteria line at Mount Allison University during their freshman year. Jefferson was the social rep for his dorm and invited Debbie and her friends to a party. Debbie went, but nothing happened. A year later Jefferson and Debbie were living in the same dorm and reconnected, but over the next three years they only saw each other off and on, until right before graduation when they both realized that there was something more between them worth pursuing. Unfortunately, it was too late—they were both leaving (her to Halifax, him to Toronto), perhaps never to see each other again! Over a year later, Jefferson came to Halifax to visit old friends and tracked Debbie down after class at law school, much to her surprise. They were both shaking, not out of nervousness, but out of excitement and surprise at the intensity of feeling. They dated long-distance throughout the next two and a half years of Debbie’s law degree, and then she moved to Toronto.
Fave date: “Every couple of weeks, we make homemade pizza, have some beer and watch a movie—definitely one of our favourite ways to spend the night together.”
What attracted her to him: His smile.
What attracted him to her: Her eyes.
Engagement story: “It happened on Cumberland. It was a beautiful day, we were out window shopping, and then I just said, ‘Debbie, I want to be your husband.’ She said yes, we cried, hugged and laughed, which pretty much sums up our relationship.”
