If you’re still unsure of a honeymoon location, you may want to throw Vancouver into your hat of options. Surrounded by gorgeous mountains and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver is packed with delicious eats, adventurous sights and romantic hot spots.
Stanley Park
With over 1,000 acres of greenery filled with lush gardens, historical landmarks and great restaurants, you’ll literally find yourselves wandering around for hours on end. But if there’s one place you must visit, it’s the Vancouver Aquarium. Upon arrival expect to be greeted with a myriad of exotic fish, friendly beluga whales and the most adorable otters ever—famous for a video of them holding hands posted on You Tube.
Grouse Mountain
For a spectacular view of the city, head to Grouse Mountain and take the skyride up (only a mere six minutes to get to the top). Or, if you’re seeking more adventure, mountain zip-lining, hiking, chairlift rides and helicopter tours are at your disposal.
Skoah Spa
After a day’s worth of fun in the sun, ensure that your skin is rejuvenated and refreshed at this blissful oasis. Located in hip Yaletown, Skoah Spa is the perfect place to go for some well-needed R & R. Enjoy their signature treatment entitled “facialiscious”—complete with a complimentary massage.
Nu Restaurant
If you’re craving seafood, you’ll love this seaside eatery. Situated along the water, you and your mister can cozy up to the spectacular atmosphere and watch the sunset during dinner. Dishes include everything from fresh Salt Spring Island mussels to open-faced lobster. A must-try: fried local oysters with a lager shooter.
Gastown
Don’t know what to do during the day? Take a nice stroll through the historical downtown Gastown, which is completely covered in cobblestones. It’s here where you’ll find an array of independent boutique shops and great pubs.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Get over your fear of heights and make your way to this popular destination—approximately 70 metres above the Capilano River. Cross the bridge with your mister, and once on the other side, enjoy the crisp, clean fresh air as you make your way from one tree to the next through their treetop adventure.
Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar
Have an intimate dinner for two at this secluded restaurant. Their open concept courtyard paired with their delicious menu (not to mention the wine!) is perfect if you’re looking for a chic and sophisticated place to dine.
Four Seasons
If it’s luxury that you’re looking for, consider staying at this lovely hotel—right in the heart of the city! Stay in one of their junior suites and get pampered by booking yourselves an appointment with their in-house masseuse.
Granville Island
No matter what your agenda entails, you must find time to make your way to this wonderful island (which can only be accessed by one road going in and out). Here you’ll find more independent boutiques along with artsy stores. But best of all, it’s at Granville Island where you’ll find their famous market. Buy the freshest fruit or enjoy an ice cream and take it out to the dock area as you watch the people and sailboats go by and enjoy the background music that one of the locals usually provides.
