There’s no golden rule that says you have to get married at a church and then celebrate at your local banquet hall. If you’re the non-traditional type, don’t be afraid to step outside the norm by exchanging vows at a more unique wedding venue. If you’re expecting a large crowd, consider saying “I do” at a local mansion like Toronto’s Graydon Hall Manor (pictured left). Or, obtain a permit to host your wedding in a public space like a nearby harbour or a city park or garden. For a unique post-ceremony party, scope out local art galleries and museums – talk to the manager or owner about renting the space for the night. You don’t even have to stop there. Check out places and spaces that are memorable to you and your beau – even if they don’t seem like your typical reception venue. For example, if you both met at a restaurant, consider exchanging vows at that special place. If you’re wine lovers, check out local wineries.

Where to Say "I Do"?
The place you choose to celebrate in should be a unique and personal space that reflects the two of you. By Roseanne Dela Rosa
