Tea isn’t just for the blue rinse set anymore. In fact, it’s a hip and happening way to get together with friends on a Sunday afternoon (bonus: you don’t have to worry about kicking them out in the wee hours of the morning).
Spice up your table with a fabulous floral centrepiece, and serve some delicious finger foods on a spectacular three-tier serving tray. Offer sweet treats (cakes, tarts, scones) and savoury delights (cucumber sandwiches) to complement the tea. Also, make sure you have milk, sugar and lemon on hand. For an added touch, pick up some sugar cubes.
There are a wide variety of teas available today, so don’t limit yourself to plain old orange pekoe (although there’s nothing wrong with a classic)! Opt for loose tea, as it yields the most flavourful results. And last, but not least, consider this: tea comes from exotic places such as India and China, so why not host a theme party replete with appropriate favours and decorative items.
