Canadian celebrity photographer George Pimentel, who has shot the who’s who of Hollywood from the shores of Cannes to the hottest parties at the Toronto International Film Festival, knows what makes a beautiful picture.
Keep the following tips in mind when posing for your photographer, and you’ll be sure to capture all of your star moments.
George Pimentel says:
- To look your slimmest, keep your back straight and shoulders back—NO SLOUCHING!
- Keep your chin up to avoid the appearance of a double chin.
- Always try to face the camera straight on—avoid showing your profile.
- It’s great to smile, but keep it natural—don't over-exaggerate.
- Smile with your eyes.
- Face into the wind so your hair isn't blowing into your face.
- Make sure your dress fits properly and no extra skin is hanging out or undergarments are showing (i.e. bra straps).
- Opt for professional makeup application.
- No gum chewing.
- Natural light is great to take photos in, as harsh lights can cast shadows and cause squinting.
- Take your photographer’s cues.
- Trust your photographer and choose one whom you feel most comfortable with. This will create good energy and bring out the best in you and your pictures.

Looking at the comments I am not surprized to see more people today getting married outdoors. It's nice BUT nothing like the old tradition of getting married in a church. Too me you feel more connected as one. In the house of God.
