Borrow these seven unique celebrity wedding ideas for your own day! By Roseanne Dela Rosa

Idea: Dream Scheme
Celebrity Inspiration: Being a true patriot, Pretty Woman starlet Julia Roberts chose to say her “I dos” to Danny Moder on July 4—American Independence Day. Living the true American dream, their reception was jam-packed with Fourth of July memorabilia. Everything from the menu, which included all-American items like hot dogs, hamburgers and corn on the cob, to having fireworks at the end of the reception, represented the Fourth of July.
Make It Your Own: Use your own cultural heritage as the main motif for your wedding day. For example, if your background is Italian try incorporating special Italian dishes into your menu. Or, if you grew up with Chinese influences, try and use their traditions on your W-day, such as a tea ceremony.

Idea: Not Once but Twice
Celebrity Inspiration: When top model Elizabeth Hurley exchanged vows with businessman Arun Nayar she did so in grand fashion and style. Rather than having one celebration, Hurley and Nayar opted for two. Paying homage to both their cultures, the first ceremony took place at Sudley Castle in England and the second at Umaid Bhawan Palace in India. At the first ceremony, Hurley donned a traditional chiffon dress and for the second she wore a pink gem-studded sari—both designed by Donatella Versace.
Make It Your Own: Although you may not have two wedding celebrations, you might want to consider having two wedding ensembles for your big day. Nowadays, it’s common for brides to wear a more traditional gown at the ceremony and a more mod dress at the reception.

Idea: Aisle Style
Celebrity Inspiration: Donald Trump’s marriage to Melania Knauss may have been grand and extravagant, but when it came to her bouquet, Knauss opted to strut down the aisle holding something simpler—a rosary.
Make It Your Own: Even if you choose to carry a bouquet, you can still carry a lucky charm or special trinket. Simply have your florist embed your special item in the flowers or attach it to the stems.

Idea: Dress to Impress
Celebrity Inspiration: Known for her catchy tunes and keen fashion sense, Gwen Stefani said her vows to Gavin Rossdale all dressed up in a stunning pink and white wedding dress from Dior by John Galliano.
Make It Your Own: If you feel you’re not as daring as Gwen, try wearing a more subtle tone like blush or champagne. Or, choose colourful accessories: think blue Manolos à la Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie.

Idea: Far and Away
Celebrity Inspiration: With elegance and romance in mind, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker decided to tie the knot in the most romantic place on earth—Paris! Following their vows, Longoria and Parker held their reception at Château de Vaux le Vicomte, a classic château located in Maincy.
Make It Your Own: Have a destination wedding! Opt for a location that has sentimental value to you. Or, take advantage of the situation and choose a place where you’ve always dreamed of going but never had the time to go. Note: if you’re on a budget, you may want to look into a Caribbean location. This area is a hot wedding destination right now!

Idea: Flower Power
Celebrity Inspiration: When Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay said “I do” to actor Peter Hermann on August 28, 2004, she looked like a princess with a pretty chignon adorned in roses and gardenias—the same blossoms used in her bouquet.
Make It Your Own: Don’t be afraid to match. Keep your flowers consistent by ensuring that you use the same blossoms in your centrepieces, boutonnières, corsages and bridesmaids’ bouquets.

Idea: Icing on the Cake
Celebrity Inspiration: Although they’ve been married for eight years, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’ wedding cake is still memorable. Designed by renowned cake designer Sylvia Weinstock, the happy couple’s confection was literally four-feet high and covered in thousands of edible sugar flowers. The approximate cost is said to have been seven thousand pounds!
Make It Your Own: If you’re a huge sweet lover, feel free to splurge on your wedding cake—design-wise that is. To save money, have your cake designer construct an extravagant and gorgeous towering fake cake with slabs on the side for guests to enjoy.
