You’re going to be princess for a day, so it’s only natural you’d announce your upcoming marriage with an honour befitting the queen – a personalized stamp of you and your fiancé. picturepostage.ca, a division of Canada Post, has introduced an easy three-step online plan to create your own custom stamps. To get started, simply upload a picture of the two of you, edit it to fit the frame of your choice and place your order. You can order a keepsake sheet of 20 stamps or a full sheet of 40 stamps either of which can be mailed anywhere in Canada.
To ensure you get the best quality stamp possible, here are five tips to keep in mind:
1. Select a digital image on your computer that is of good resolution. All images must be in jpeg format and no larger than 7 MB. Remember: The larger the file, the longer it will take to upload.
2. The best photos are close-up, and should be shot from above the waist.
3. Limit group shots to no more than five people with faces dominating the photo.
4. If the subject of your image isn't centred, you can use the website’s online cropping tool to select a specific area. If you’re sending in an order form, outline the area of the picture that you’d like to see on your stamp and Canada Post will crop it for you.
5. All adjustments to your photo should be made prior to sending your order. See your local film processor to correct red-eye or enlarge a face or object.
