If Hawaii is your honeymoon destination, you must experience Maui’s Hana Highway. It has over 600 twisty turns, old-fashioned bridges and some of the most spectacular views of waterfalls, jungles and cliffs. You’ll have an incredible adventure just driving it, but consider seeing it up-close-and-personal.
Eco-travel company Hike Maui has been taking visitors for over 25 years, and is now offering customized private tours. By land or by helicopter (or do both!), you’ll be transported to the majestic road and then get to choose from a variety of activities. From driving through a 30-acre botanical garden to swimming in a freshwater cave, or taking a break with a massage at the Hotel Hana Maui, you can pick exactly what you want to see and do. It’s easy to miss some of these finds (there’s a 40-foot secluded waterfall only this tour has access to), so a little direction doesn’t hurt.
For $200 an hour, each tour includes the guide, transportation, activity and entrance fees. Visit hikemaui.com.
