Deciding what token of appreciation to give your girls can be challenging. We think it's a great opportunity to personalize your gift. The best part—it doesn't matter what your budget is. We asked the brides in our forums what they gave their girls and this is what they said:
1. "I gave each of my girls a robe from Victoria's Secret, a cosmetic case and a DVD of 27 Dresses." —Adiansmommy, Vernon, B.C.
2. "I made a gift box for each of my bridesmaids, which was essentially a photo box from Michael's that included:
- Custom-made necklaces from Erin Tracey Designs (she does the One-of-a-Kind Show in Toronto). The necklaces were in our wedding colours.
- Compact mirrors from Etsy, again, custom-made.
- Little Miss books that reflected each of their personalities.
- Pashminas to wear over their bridesmaids’ dresses.
- And a handmade card that I made for each of them." —tjrocks, Greater Vancouver Area
3. "I had my BFF and sister-in-law and they are into different things so I gave them a few different gifts.
- BFF (Maid of Honour): Starbucks gift card, tea mug, Dynamite gift card, pashmina, jewellery holder from Etsy, picture frame.
- Sister-In-Law (Bridesmaid): Starbucks gift card, tea mug, 1000 Places To See Before You Die book, jewellery holder from Etsy, picture frame.
I also took them out for breakfast after our pedicures on the day before the wedding." —TheNewMrsP, Victoria B.C.
4. "I guess I'm a little boring, but I paid for their hair appointments that day, and bought them each a necklace from the ELLE collection that they could wear on the wedding day if they wanted to (they didn't have to, though)." —BailieBlue, Ottawa
5. "I got my gals pearl earrings." —TaliaMike, Toronto
6. "Tiffany's bracelets." —DWBride
7. "Well, I'll share what I did for my girls, even though I wouldn't ever recommend doing this! I made a scrapbook for each of my bridesmaids about “our friendship.” I've been friends with all my girls for 10-15 years, and I went through old albums, high school yearbooks, etc. and gathered all the pictures I could. I spent hours at Black's scanning, sizing and printing the photos. Then I spent hours assembling them using cool scrapbooking papers and materials. I'd never done scrapbooking before and didn't realize how much time it would take. I probably spent 80+ hours on this! Although my girls absolutely loved their albums, I wouldn't recommend this to people because of the time commitment." —inlove4life, Toronto
8. "I wanted to give my girls a keepsake that was really special—something that would remind them of the wedding without being overstated. I gave each of them a silver bangle bracelet from Birks."—shevy1978
9. "My girls already had their jewellery so I got them all jewellery boxes. They were really nice and they were personalized with their names engraved on the lid." —AnaInOttawa
10. "I gave my girls terry cloth robes. They were white with blue collars and daisies on them, which was perfect since my wedding colour was blue and my flowers were daisies." —Lesley
