Sight Seeing

The star of Los Cabos is definitely the consistency of its weather: average year-round daytime temperature is 26°C (78°F) while the water temperature in the Sea of Cortés averages 22°C (72°F). The climate is arid with more than 300 days of sunshine, which means it’s a perfect honeymoon hot spot.
Day Tripping: San Jose Del Cabo & Cabo San Lucas
These two towns, locally referred to as San Jose and San Lucas, are about 32 km. (20 miles) apart on the Sea of Cortés, and are known collectively as Los Cabos. About 15 minutes from the Marquis resort, San Jose is gaining fame as an art destination—spend an afternoon wandering this colonial town, first stopping at the old mission church then browsing through the many art galleries nearby. In addition to art, silver jewellery and tequila are prized items; several of the shops do tequila tastings to acquaint visitors with the smooth, rich qualities of premium sipping tequilas. No more worm and burn—these are akin to a fine scotch, with many brands much pricier, or unavailable, in North America.
In the other direction, 20 minutes from the resort, San Lucas’ notoriety is as the party town; whether you want to catch some live music at Cabo Wabo (the bar owned by Sammy Hagar of Van Halen fame) or just do some clubbing at places like the Giggling Marlin or El Squid Roe. While this town is a Spring Break spot for surfers, to avoid the madness dine and drink in San Jose.
The area boasts many shining options for honeymoon excursions: exploring the desert, deep-sea fishing, surfing, crewing an America’s Cup yacht, diving and other active adventures.
