When it comes to your wedding day, a great hairstyle is just as important as a great dress. Roque Jimenez, creative director of the Samy Style Beauty Lounge (he has worked on celebrities like Heidi Klum and Hilary Duff) offers these tips on getting the right ’do for you on your wedding day.
- Do go for a ’do you know you’ll love. Don’t try to mimic somebody else’s style. If you’re used to wearing your hair down, then wear it down. You’ll feel more comfortable and you won’t regret your choice in the end.
- Do go for a sexy and fun style. Remember: weddings are all about having fun and celebrating your love for each other. Don’t be afraid to opt for a fun and flirty style over a more traditional look.
- Do try to keep hair accessories to a minimum. If you already have a veil, don’t go overboard by adding flowers, a tiara and hair jewels all at once—it can be distracting. Instead, choose one hair accessory that you’d like to accentuate.
- Do stick to a simple hairstyle. A complicated ’do might be harder to fix if it comes undone, especially if you don’t have a hairstylist on hand to help you through the day.
- Do wash your hair if you’re going for that clean and sleek look. If you’re aiming for a chic updo, wash the day before your big day, it’ll be easier for the stylist to work with.
