Sure, you may already have "your" song planned for the wedding reception or perhaps a choice of hymns for your ceremony, but the music doesn't have to stop there if you've got an ear for something different.
With a little imagination, you can fill the day with music in unconventional ways:
- Give favourite music tapes to your limousine driver so that the rides to the ceremony and reception are accompanied by your best-loved tunes.
- Have a joyous fanfare start your procession. Look into hiring music students, college band members or professional musicians to lead the way.
- If you want to hear the peal of bells after your ceremony but aren't getting married in a church with a bell tower, don't let that stop you. If the building has a good PA system, you may be able to play a recording of ringing bells, timed to start immediately after the recession music ends and just as you step outside.
- Create a "symphony" of wedding guests: One bride and groom walked the short distance from their ceremony site to the reception, leading a joyous parade of guests who had been given tambourines, homemade rattles, toy drums and kazoos to play along the way.
