Film Your Wedding

Star as yourself and capture the magical moments of your big day in a Hollywood-style film.

Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz aren’t the only people allowed to star in movies. You can, too. And what better love story than the one that will be told on your wedding day? Consider hiring a professional videographer to capture you in the magical moments of your big day. Recent advances in both filming and editing can deliver professional results, and you’ll feel like a real movie star when you relive your wedding on the big screen.

Personal FX
With all the possibilities for visual effects (both planned and unplanned), you might be wondering if your intimate ceremony is going to turn into a Star Wars remake. Instead of going the home movie route, opt for a professional video production that’s seamlessly edited and discuss package options (length, music, FX, etc.) with your videographer.

Video Vanguards
When it comes to filming, you’ll need to set some guidelines with your cameraperson before the wedding. Naturally, you want your wedding video to be spectacular, but you also want to make certain filming doesn’t get in the way of the festivities. Be sure that you and your videographer are clear on this issue beforehand and don’t forget to co-ordinate with your still photographer so everyone has room to shoot.

Shop Around
When hiring a videographer, it’s important to find someone you’re comfortable with, and who is willing to incorporate your ideas. Different companies offer different packages, so research them carefully before making your decision. To avoid miscommunication on the day (or problems later), make sure you get in writing everything that you’ve discussed.

Hollywood Treatment
Give your family and friends the chance to guest star in your wedding video. Have your videographer on hand to film your maid-of-honour as she reminisces about the day you and your husband met and to record best wishes from your guests. This is a great way to create instant wedding memories.

Share the Memories
When your video is ready, you can arrange for copies to be made in VHS or DVD format for guests who would like one. But you’ll want to premiere it privately as a couple first before sharing it with anyone else. Then tuck your copy away until your first anniversary, when you can relive your day all over again. Pop some popcorn, cuddle up on the sofa together and enjoy the show!
