As far as beauty seasons go, this fall is a big one for trends. It’s been a while since we’ve seen so many wonderfully diverse ones living in one fashion season, which can make navigating the best ones for you difficult. Even more challenging: knowing how to make your favourites bridal-friendly. We asked makeup maestro Michelle Rosen, with Toronto’s Judy Inc., to pick her top three essentials and explain why they will work for you on your wedding day. Here’s her hit list.
1. Nude lips. “This look kept popping up at all the key fashion shows, and it’s simple and very sexy,” Rosen says. “The challenge is finding the right nude for your skin tone and this is where working with a makeup artist is key.”
2. Smoky eyes. “I love them paired with nude lips and for brides, I smoke up the eyes with shimmering brown and copper shades for a softer, but still dramatic, look,” Rosen says. We also love purple and plum shades.
3. Blended makeup. “This is another ’80’s throwback— sculpted, shaded, contoured and blended makeup that looks like it’s been airbrushed to perfection,” Rosen smiles. This is perfect for a bride because it’s essential that her skin looks flawless!”
