The style options out there are seemingly endless when it comes to engagement rings. Where years ago the traditional round cut was the choice (in the 1800s, Tiffany & Co. actually introduced the six-prong Tiffany Setting, which was the beginning of the engagement ring as we know it today), today you can have anything from square cut to heart-shaped. In the spirit of diamonds being every girl’s best friend (maybe you’ve already got that sparkler, or maybe it’s something that’s been hinted about by your guy), I thought it would be fun to put together a 101 list about stone shapes—here’s what your diamond says about you.
Oval
This is my stone shape and it’s a perfect fit for my hand. The oval is a perfectly symmetrical stone that flatters small hands and shorter fingers—the diamond’s shape gives the illusion of lengthening the hand. When it comes to dazzle, the oval definitely has it thanks to a contrasting silhouette, which reflects and refracts light.
Bridal Personality: You are feminine and highly creative. Though you are organized and incredibly disciplined when it comes to getting the job done; after hours, you love to cut loose and let your wild side shine through.

Round
The brilliant round diamond has set the standard for all other diamond shapes, and is loved for its sparkle and versatility.

What about princess cut diamonds, they're my favourite. My engagement ring is a princess cut solitaire.
