Dreaming of a honeymoon in Fiji? Apparently you’re not alone. The Fiji islands recently topped honeymoon wish lists in a survey by Honeymooner’s Review Guide (honeymoonersreviewguide.com). The honeymoon and destination wedding planning site polled couples who were in the process of planning their honeymoons and asked them: Where’s your dream honeymoon destination? The Fiji islands were the top destination choice with 19% of the votes, squeezing out the Hawaiian Islands with 18% and French Polynesia with 15%.
Michelle McKenzie, vice-president of Honeymooner's Review Guide, reports this poll doesn’t necessarily indicate where couples actually spend their honeymoon, just where they dream of going. “Often budgetary issues limit the final destination of honeymoon couples,” McKenzie explains. “Actually, the Hawaiian islands are the number one final destination of those who complete our post-honeymoon survey."
Looking for other alluring honeymoon destinations? Europe tied French Polynesia with 15% of respondents reporting that would be their honeymoon destination of choice, followed by Thailand (11%), Jamaica (9%), Bali (8%) and Anguilla (5%).
