1. Guest Count
Are all your guest accounted for? This is a major must-check, so you don’t have to face the obstacles of adding an extra plate last minute at your reception. Do a re-count to see who has RSVP’d and who hasn’t. Tip: To speed up the process ask your bridal party to help you count the guest list.
2. All About You
If you haven’t already, ensure that all your beauty (hair, makeup, spa) essentials are booked solid. The worst thing is showing up for your wedding-day appointment only to find out you’ve been double-booked. Trust us, your wedding day is not the day to experiment with new vendors.
3. Weather Worry
This is the last thing you have to fret about, but a week before the wedding, it’d be a good plan to keep an eye out for the weather. You should have a backup plan set just in case a storm rolls in.
4. Confirm! Confirm! Confirm!
We can’t stress this point enough. It’s best to call and confirm with all your vendors–especially the ones coming on the day-of (i.e. transportation, caterer, photographer, florist, etc.) that they’ll be where required at the appropriate time. Most often, vendors will follow-up themselves, so if they haven’t called a few days prior to your wedding, check in with them.
5. Bridal Emergency Kit
Realistically, there might be a few stumbles you encounter along the way on your wedding day. Make sure you have a little 911 kit to go to for last-minute emergencies. For more info on what to include, check out the article entitled “Bridal Emergency Kit.”
6. Honeymoon Details
If you’re jetting off right after your wedding, ensure your luggage is packed and ready to go. The last thing you want to do is stress over what you forgot to pack during your actual wedding. Make a checklist prior to packing and check everything off as you go.

Do not forget to check with your officiant. Make sure you sent your ceremony to the officiant and it was actually received.
Furthermore, check timings.

I completely agree with the checking with your officiant. We had a meeting and everything with our priest, and I phoned him last week to ask a question about the ceremony and he didn't even have us written in his calendar...even though i watched him write us in and had an email confirmation! Needless to say I almost had a heart attack - thank god no one else booked that day!

Those are wonderful tips. My wedding is September 5th 2011. I keep a running to-do-list on google documents with things that need to get done. My finace is very involved in the planning since he lives in the city where we are getting married and I don't. The google document is saving our sanity! You can make changes to documents at the same time.
I just realised the posts on this article goes back to 2009. I am a bit late here :)
