Honeymoon in Vegas

Escape to the unimaginable realm of Las Vegas for a honeymoon filled with non-stop entertainment. By Roseanne Dela Rosa

Known as the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas is the perfect city to celebrate the start of your new life as husband and wife. Walk down the famous Vegas strip, enjoy the nightlife, soak in the cultural settings, take in a show, splurge at chic boutiques, spa it up and let Sin City take you on a trip to remember.

Stay
For the ultimate Las Vegas experience, check your luggage at the Bellagio Hotel (bellagio.com). Known for its dancing fountains, this luxurious five-star hotel is filled with some of Vegas’ sweetest suites. Rooms include a soaking whirlpool tub, lavishly stocked mini bars and a spectacular view of the strip. Feeling European? Check into the Venetian Hotel (venetian.com). You’ll be in for an Italian treat with the Venetian’s grand canal shops, indoor gondola rides, and 19 remarkable restaurants. The suites at the Venetian stray away from your standard Vegas-style rooms. Equipped with a sunken living room, canopy-draped bed and in-suite safe, you’ll feel like you’ve hit the jackpot without even leaving your hotel.

Play
Make the most of your Vegas experience and take in Cirque Du Soleil’s performance of  “O.” Performed inside the Bellagio hotel, “O” is a breathtaking aquatic show that combines both music and acrobatic movements that make for amazing entertainment. The music is composed by musicians from all over the world, utilizing a combination of instruments including a Chinese violin, an African guitar and harp, Colombian guitars and ancient woodwinds. Looking to earn some extra cash? See if Lady Luck is on your side at the MGM Grand Casino (mgmgrand.com). This state-of-the-art, 5,300-square foot betting arena is home to all sorts of games including Blackjack, Craps, Poker and Roulette.

Eat
Don’t know where to eat? Head to New York New York Hotel & Casino (nynyhotelcasino.com) and wander around their indoor streets filled with restaurants reminiscent of the Big Apple. If you’ve got an appetite for beef, check out Gallagher’s Steakhouse, a New York City original since 1927. For some delicious Dim Sum and chicken salad, try Chin Chin Café, an authentic Chinese restaurant. Got a craving for seafood? The Red, White and Blue restaurant inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino (mandalaybay.com) offers two distinct menus featuring fresh oysters, jumbo shrimp and lobster on one side and an assortment of deli sandwiches on the other. Top off your night  with dessert at La Creperie located inside the Paris Las Vegas Hotel (harrahs.com), a traditional walk-up bistro that offers the freshest French crepes you’ll ever taste.

Visit
Get your shop on at The Forum Shops (harrahs.com) located inside Caesar’s Palace. With over 160 boutiques and shops including Burberry, Valentino, Christian Dior and Fendi, there’s no telling how much time you’ll end up spending there. Get back in touch with nature at The Mirage (mirage.com) where you’ll find a 2.5-million gallon dolphin habitat, an indoor garden entitled The Tropical Rainforest, a huge aquarium filled with coral reef life, a white tiger habitat and a sizzling volcano that comes to life every night. For a more relaxing afternoon, check out the Monte Carlo Spa (montecarlo.com). Seaweed body wraps, swedish massages and european facials are only a few of the many treats this spa has to offer.
