Ring bearer dress options can seem to be minimal in comparison to flower girls. Tie in the flower girl’s attire with an accent colour or style from the bridesmaids’. Whatever you put your little maid in, make sure it is age-appropriate—somehow, a five-year-old in a strapless corseted gown can be a bit much. “Fabrics like soft net tulle (as opposed to stiff taffetas and bridal satins) have a great drape and flow that makes kids want to twirl around with it and enjoy wearing it in the hot months,” says Pam Chorley of Fashion Crimes in Toronto.
Summer Look: Tie in the flower girl’s dress with your reception theme. For instance, if you are having a tiered cake covered in wildflowers and centrepieces of wildflowers, then echo that summery style with a nice flowery summer dress for the flower girl and a basket full of flowers for her to carry.

We all know how important a good pair of shoes is. It can make or break the comfort and enjoyment of a day. When fitting shoes for the little ones in your wedding party, it’s wise to get them shoes that feel comfortable right from the get-go. “Shoes that fit correctly are comfortable from the start and should not need breaking in,” says Katherine Chapman of Olly Shoes in Toronto. When is the best time to buy shoes for children who are constantly growing? To be safe, it is best to buy the shoes 2 to 4 weeks prior to the event.
Prep Time
Just like your wedding day attire requires go-sees and fittings, so should the kids’ wear. Schedule enough time to find the perfect ensemble and make sure that it is comfortable for them to last a whole day in.
