Wedding Hair: Timeless Updo Ideas

Fashion & Beauty » Fashion & Beauty » Hairstyles

Wondering what style of wedding hair to wear on your day? Finding your perfect wedding hair can be tough but our current favourites are hairstyles we’ve been seeing on famous ladies over the past year. The good news is that a wedding updo has never been so simpler and easier to wear.

A few weeks back we shot an epic fashion story in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia for our Spring & Summer 2013 issue. The gowns were glorious and so was the wedding hair created by beauty maestro David Goveia from Toronto’s Judy Inc. With 20 looks to create for the shoot, there was ample opportunity to mix up the styles and though we did shoot a few long, loose and wavy ‘dos, the majority of looks David created were gorgeous wedding updos including a high ponytail, side chignon, top knot and demi-chignon. Though you’ll have to wait until the Spring & Summer 2013 issue hits newsstands this December to see our shoot (and gorgeous wedding updo ideas within) we can certainly give you a preview of the wedding hair looks we created via some of Hollywood’s best-tressed celebs. From Kate Middleton and Lauren Conrad to Mandy Moore and Elizabeth Banks, here’s some wedding updo inspiration for stunning photo-ready locks.

Wedding Websites: 25 Top Fashion Resources Online

Fashion & Beauty

Wedding websites with a fashion focus like Bhldn.com and Shopruche.com have seriously changed the way brides shop for their dresses. Ten years ago it would have been unheard of for a bride to buy her gown online, but times have changed! Thanks to fashionable, easy-to-use wedding websites many brides are choosing to take the plunge into cyber space when it comes to tracking down the dress of their dreams. Wedding fashion websites frequently offer money-saving opportunities, too. Thrifty brides can search for treasures on Ebay.ca, Craigslist.ca, Kijiji.ca and more. Plus, the Internet puts a world of wedding fashion inspiration at your fingertips. Interactive websites like Pinterest.com are revolutionizing the way brides look for wedding dresses and accessories. Another advantage to online shopping for your wedding? The world wide web is a wonderful place to find stylish and affordable bridesmaid dresses—and even if your bridesmaids are all over the map they can still order the same dress from the same site. Check out Dessy.com for a profusion of colour options and styles, or visit Weddingtonway.com to browse through hundreds of bridesmaid dresses and then share your selections with your girls. And lets not forget about your dapper groom—stylish men’s fashions are all over the Internet too. Weigh in on his wedding-day look by pointing him towards wedding fashion websites for men like Freemanformal.com and Indochino.com (both of these companies are also proudly Canadian!). A Rustic Wedding in Delta, British Columbia

real weddings

Passion and romance were in high supply at Chriseli and Brent’s rustic wedding in Delta, British Columbia. The couple celebrated their love with 50 of their closest friends and family members at the stunning Kirkland house. The couple wed in the venue’s beautiful garden under a towering gazebo while their guests watched from white wooden chairs. The couple then stole a moment with each other and posed for pictures, using the beautiful rocky scenery of British Columbia as their backdrop. The reception of the stunning rustic wedding took place under an overarching white tent that was decorated with paper lanterns, multi-coloured buntings, and twinkling lights. Soft yellow and white flower centrepieces and burlap fabric with the couple’s initials laid atop of white tables, complementing the theme of the couple’s rustic wedding. Friends and family members sipped fresh lemonade and danced into the wee hours of the night. Guests were given a number of Filipino delicacies, including arrowroot cookies and fruit syrups, as the night closed on this beautiful rustic wedding.
