The combination of clear skies, sun shining, and summer heat is the ideal weather for any summer celebration. But, with the sun beating down (especially if you are having an outdoor reception or ceremony), family and friends may get uncomfortable. To keep them cool, here are eight easy ideas to ensure they have a good time and don’t suffer from heatstroke.

No, we’re not talking about Kate’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress, but rather the sleek, sexy Roland Mouret gown she stepped out wearing last evening in London. Is the Duchess not the epitome of modern sophistication in this elegant (and full-sleeved!) white gown complete with a daring (for royal standards) slit up the front?! She finished the look with her trademark curtain of glossy brunette hair, simple jewel drop earrings, and a super-hot pair of sparkly Jimmy Choo Vamp platform sandals (her toes were painted with a classic red polish). This look head-to-toe is an amazing style for a formal, urban wedding, or even as a glam number two look for your evening reception. We heart.
If you can’t pick just one dessert for your wedding, or are not sure about cake, why not consider a dessert table full of your favourite treats, candies and sweets? A dessert table can make a fun, interactive and delicious addition to your festivities. According to Amy Atlas, dessert designer extraordinaire, a stunning table should have the following requirements: a vertical visual element (such as a backdrop or flowers), a cohesive colour palette, fabrics and vessels that work with the table design, a variety of flavours and textures of desserts and labels for each item. Check out these amazing designs for some mouth-watering inspiration.
Ever since Brad and Angelina announced their engagement to the world, there’s been speculation (and, yes even bets!) as to where the duo will tie the knot, what the bride will wear, what colour her dress will be–pretty much anything and everything you can think of wedding-related. Today, they’ve released a few more details regarding their ceremony–which is rumoured to take place on August 11th, 2012 at their French chateau. Today a source revealed that the dynamic duo plans to incorporate different ethnic wedding traditions during their ceremony–specifically Cambodian, Ethiopian and Vietnam traditions–where their adopted children respectively hail from. Each culture has their own distinct and unique rites, some Cambodian marriage include hair-cutting and passing of a candle while Vietnam weddings call for various clothing made of elaborate designs–it’ll be interesting to see how Brad and Angelina blend each belief into their own day.
Another detail regarding Angie’s figure has also come into play, as the source also reveals that she’d like a more “shapely” figure to walk down the aisle in (thank goodness!). To help her gain some weight, Angelina consulted with culinary master Jamie Oliver for a few meaty recipes.
