From music royalty to fictional fan favourites, it’s been a huge week for wedding gown reveals. Over the last seven days, Beyoncé’s wedding dress, which has been under wraps for three years, was finally unveiled just as Lauren Bush’s stunning Victorian-inspired creation hit the pages of Vogue. Add to that the gowns of Twilight’s Bella Swan, and Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf and the result is a wedding voyeur’s dream come true. Take a peek at this slideshow from Fashion Magazine to get up to speed on the stories behind all of these uber-famous frocks, then vote for your favourite.
On your wedding day, it’s important that you feel comfortable and confident in your chosen ensemble. If your personal style is a little quirky, that’s okay—there’s no reason to conform to someone else’s idea of a beautiful bride. Case in point, many bridal designers included some seriously out-of-the-box outfits in their latest collections. From pantsuits to black—yes black!—wedding dresses, there are tons of stylish options available for the fashion risk-taker. Here are 10 of our favourite cutting-edge wedding-day looks.
Next to the Royal Wedding, Bella and Edward’s Breaking Dawn nuptials are the biggest wedding news of 2012. Bella’s wedding dress of course is also huge news. Just like Kate Middleton, Bella opted for sleeves! In the film her sleek, sleeved-sheath with sexy shear lace back was designed by Carolina Herrera and the designer just announced she will be retailing the Bella gown in 2012 (there was no exact date as to when it will be available). If you want the dress now, good news—Alfred Angelo just introduced this replica of the Bella. The company reportedly began working on the dress in May and it was shipped to stores yesterday. It retails for $799 (USD) and features long, lace-trimmed sleeves, a Chantilly-inspired lace applique trim and plunging cut-out illusion back. It’s fashioned out of liquid satin. What to you think? Is this gown to-do-for?
