Kim Kardashian Gets Engaged!

Last October, Kim Kardashian was in Toronto promoting a spectacular 22-carat diamond engagement ring by Michael Hill (read my post about the event here), and I can’t help thinking that sparkler was a good luck charm! At that time, Kardashian, who referred to herself as a “hopeless romantic,” was yet to meet Kris Humphries (who is now her fiancé!). Fast-forward several months, and Kardashian is newly engaged to Humphries, a New Jersey Nets forward. Humphries wisely turned to Kardashian’s mom Kris Jenner for help picking out the ring, and he popped the question at Kardashian’s Beverly Hills home with a custom 20.5-carat diamond ring by renowned jeweller Lorraine Schwartz. According to People magazine, Humphries only had one criteria for the ring: “I just knew I wanted it to be big.” To that we say, mission accomplished!

To veil or not to veil…

I was never that little girl; the one who wore a crown of toilet paper around her head, and let it fall to the ground in grand veil fashion. I didn’t prance about the yard wearing my DIY headgear nor did I swoon at the sight of these heavenly accessories.  Even when that magical I-found-my wedding-dress day came, I was more interested in adding the sparkly bits (the necklace, the bracelets, the hairband) than I was the actual veil.  Was I really a veil kinda girl? Somehow there seemed to be so much tied to this whisper-thin netting. And if I did wear one, which way would I play it? Retro? Face-framing net. Fashion girl? Feathers, crystals and tulle. Princess? Cathedral-length with opulent embroidery. Now, I was curious, I needed to experience (first hand!) the veil effect. Read the rest of this entry »

Sara Rue Weds!

Fashion & Beauty

It’s definitely wedding season because celebrity weddings are in full swing. This past weekend, actor Sara Rue wed longtime beau Kevin Price in a sunset ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Pacific Palisades, California. Sassy redhead Rue—host of Shedding for the Wedding who recently lost 50 lbs. herself—looked glorious on her day and was bang on trend with her gorgeous rosette-trimmed gown and her Tiffany blue Aruna Seth butterfly satin peep-toe heels. Bridal Beauty Pick of the Week

Fashion & Beauty » Fashion & Beauty » Skin Care & Makeup

WHAT: Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara ($10).

WHY: We were already sold on Revlon’s original Grow Luscious introduced last year, but with this just-released volumizing formula, they’ve made a good thing even better. The oversize tapered brush perfectly coats each and every lash—even the teeniest ones—to give them amazing definition and plumpness. One coat will give lashes a lush lift, but try layering to create a vavavoom falsies effect. This is a luxury product at very affordable price.
