The first amazing cake that visitors saw when they entered the cake show was this pretty French Macaroon and sculpted confection!

You wouldn’t believe the amazing sweets that were on display at The Cake Show–they were ALL truly a work of art. Some elegant, some more romantic and some just totally out there; no matter the styles, cakes both by students, alumni members and cake decorators across Ontario came out to show their finest work. With over 400 visitors in attendance, an endless display of gorgeous cakes, a delicious bake sale that sold out within hours (french macaroons, cookies, cupcakes), live demos, a chocolate tasting station, cookie-decorating classes, seminars and of course, live cake challenge competitions–the Wychwood Barns was transported into a wonderful wonderland of cakes, cakes and CAKES! As one of the judges for both the Celebrate May Challenge and the Live Cake Star Challenge, I had the extraordinary pleasure of seeing the show from beginning to end. Of the somewhat 50 confections in attendance, I, of course, couldn’t be help but be drawn to a few.
